The most powerful loco of Indian Railways, manufactured by Alstom, a French company, under #MakeInIndia scheme is now being rolled out and dedicated to the nation for use.

The loco, consisting of twin units, has an output of 12000 Horsepower and will be used by the railways for freight services. These electric locos are being manufactured at Alstom's Madhepura plant in Bihar. Alstom has set up maintenance units for these locomotives at Saharanpur and Nagpur.

The locomotive manufacturing plant was founded in November 2015. In less than four years, the first locomotive was manufactured and now, the locos are being rolled out for the service of nation. Alstom has planned to manufacture 800 of these locos.
