They gave up because 2K came out on top. Maybe they figured since they were doing Madden since 2001, they would be much better off sticking with what they had already established. But here, they would have nowhere to hide.
They'd be forced to compete with 2K. Plus, 2K does the WWE matches, which McMahon obviously owns. It just makes sense for them to do an XFL2K game. Just saying that counting on EA to do anything else or to suddenly care for quality is sort of crazy, NBA live had 15 years of history when they dropped it the first time. The one thing that I find a little shocking anymore out of EA Madden is that they haven't tried to rebrand to drop the royalty costs for the Madden
