There's a way to get decent hybrid armor though

There's a way to get decent hybrid armor though, the ghost hunter armor (w/e it's known as) is just as good and RS Gold you can get it by killing ghosts. Dragonstone armor is also available, however, the price is expensive. I think it was the highest level at the tier 50. Best f2p hybrid armour like it was described by him as dragonstone which is tier 60.

It is also worth noting that a World Event is coming this summer (May or June, I think) therefore you should be able to grab some warpriest at that time. Last time that you were able to get warpriest was early 2014. I meant tier 2 or 3 tiers , I'm not even familiar with the language I'm just an 07 player dropping down. Warpriest's armour is not good F2P. It's at tier 50, however its stats are lower than those of the other 50 tier 'tank' armours due to being hybrid armour.

Warpriest is only good when you play a lot of multi-pvp with teams/clans and is not worth the effort if you don't (except the cape). As for the topic's question which has been answered by others Batwing is the most effective Magic armor available to F2Pers, but you can increase the effectiveness of your weapon(s) if you're currently using Batwing book/shield and wand.

Gravite staff is much better and is certainly worth having If you're not planning to join very soon. It's a Dungeoneering bonus worth 40K tokens. This means you'll need to earn 400K exp through regular training in the Dungeoneering ability.

Boots and gloves, you have only a few options. It is possible to OSRS Accounts use GWD gloves that are hybrid as well as boots (Arma, Zam, Sara and Bandos) they're hybrid and therefore count as the three styles of combat. They're not very good though they provide Tier 50 Def statistics because they are hybrid armor pieces.
