French clothing company Lacoste has launched today a capsule collection of eight women polo shirts and mini dresses featuring embroideries from Maison Lesage –embroiderer founded in 1924 and owned by Chanel.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Lacoste’s woman polo shirt, the range merges sport and style statements with latest fashion trends such as holographic, sheer, mesh and oversized silhouettes. By embroidering elements like pearls, Plexiglas and gems, the polo shirts acquire a new formality. Fabric techniques came by the hand of Lesage –for instance, by laser cutting a “Fair Play” logo and stitching it with invisible thread or 3D inlays that combine fishnet and pearl. The Lacoste x Lesage limited edition is already available at Le Bon Marché Paris, 10 Corso Como Milan, Dover Street Market London, Dover Street Market Ginza in Tokyo and I.T. Beijing Market. From July 25, it will also become available on the ecommerce site and Lacoste’s flagship at Champs-Elysées. The collection’s image campaign was shot by world-renowned fashion photographer Alasdair McLellan and features eight French celebrities such as models Laetita Casta and Cora Emmanuel.
