What we see or hear every day are mostly three-phase electric energy meters and single-phase meters, so what is a single phase meter ?
A single-phase electric meter is a device used to measure electricity consumption in ordinary civil household circuits. The household circuit is used to supply power to various household appliances. Single-phase electric meters have the characteristics of low energy consumption and high reliability. They are ideal products for reforming the electricity system and realizing the commercialization of electric energy.
The single-phase electric meter uses the eddy current generated by the voltage and current coil on the aluminum plate to interact with the alternating magnetic flux to generate electromagnetic force, which makes the aluminum plate rotate, and at the same time introduces the braking torque to make the aluminum plate speed proportional to the load power. It is driven by gears, and the number of turns of the turntable is calculated by the counter to measure the electric energy. Therefore, the main structure of the watt-hour meter is composed of voltage coils, current coils, turntables, rotating shafts, brake magnets, gears, counters, etc.
However, most of the current electric meters are electronic, that is electronic energy meter , which has complete functions and very accurate calculations.
